We offer a range of pre-treatments and primer finishes for added corrosion resistance and superior coating performance.
Where required materials are pre-treated either with a degreaser or by shot blasting to etch and provide a key for the coating to sit.
We offer a standard iron phosphate degreasing pre-treatment where required.
We offer grit and sand blasting services where required.
We offer zinc-rich epoxy primers for corrosion protection over steel substrates. The coating forms the basis of a two-coat system and is suitable for over-coating with polyester as well as other systems such as epoxy or epoxy-polyester systems.
The zinc-rich primer is ideal for application in corrosive environments such as coastal areas, industrial parks or swimming pools.
We offer a zinc-free epoxy-polyester powder coating primer specifically designed for shot-blasted steel and zinc substrates. The coating incorporates the latest advanced anti-corrosion technology and offers enhanced corrosion protection in the most demanding environments. It must be coated with a second coat, usually polyester, for exterior use. However an epoxy or epoxy-polyester system could be used for interior use. Owing to its inherent properties, the zinc-free epoxy-polyester powder coating primer does not have the over-coating problems associated with pure epoxy systems and the product can be fully cured before the second coat is applied. It can therefore also be used as a holding primer and as a base-coat for solvent-based liquid coatings.
We offer an advanced epoxy-based zinc-rich powder coating primer, which forms a network within the powder coating substrate, designed to give excellent corrosion protection over steel substrates. It forms the base layer of a two-coat system and must be coated with a second coat, usually a polyester coating, for exterior use. This solution is recommended where a significantly aggressive environment is being catered for.
We offer a range of standard holding primers to facilitate the adhesion of a final finish to a substrate. These systems form the base layer of a two-coat system and are designed to be coated with a second coat, usually a polyester coating, for exterior use. The system is also good as a holding primer for a water-based liquid coating top coats. Unlike epoxy zinc-rich primers, these primers can be fully cured before the top coat is applied making it suitable for applications requiring liquid paint top coats or where the requirement is for a general primer for a variety of top coats.
If you are unsure what type of primer you need, please feel free to get in touch with us and we will happy to help. All of the primers we use come from key suppliers and each have their own chemistry. We can help you identify the best solution for you or even reassure you that our standard systems are quite adequate for all round general use.
